Located on College Road, Eastbourne’s award winning Towner Art Gallery boasts three floors of galleries showcasing modern and contemporary art alongside a renowned collection of nearly 5,000 artworks. The Towner Collection is best known for its modern British art – including the broadest and most significant body of work by Eric Ravilious (1903-1942) - and a growing collection of international contemporary art including moving image artworks.
The Towner Auditorium cinema shows new and recent releases, foreign language films and documentaries, as well as monthly family-friendly and LGBTQ+ screenings. The gallery also hosts a lively programme of events for all ages, including talks, workshops, tours, artist development opportunities and community events.
The gallery’s light and airy top floor café bar, Urban Ground at Towner, serves light lunches, homemade cakes and top quality coffee.
