Providing investment, pensions and personal tax advice.
The company began trading in 2010 and moved to Meads Street in September 2016. Managing Director Martin Adkins has been advising for 29 years and explained the background behind the recent move to Meads.
‘We were based in a converted barn in a wonderfully rural environment near Firle, with the team commuting daily from Eastbourne. Although we all enjoyed working there, it just made sense to relocate to somewhere more accessible.
Our clients are based all over the country, so it wasn’t a question of wanting a High Street presence or passing trade, but somewhere pleasant and with an established community. Meads was top of our list and we were all delighted when the old picture gallery became vacant; we knew we had found the right place! We were told when we first moved here that people had been hoping for another shop, but we have been made to feel more than welcome.
When our clients visit us we enjoy introducing them to Meads Village and seeing them discover its charm. It’s great too that we have a choice of places to take them for lunch.
Our premises have a long and very interesting history and we tried to respect that when we embarked on the refurbishment programme, the culmination of which has been the replacement of the entire frontage. We had a great deal of help and support from conservation specialists at the Council and master craftsman Colin V Haffenden has done a marvellous job of our new frontage which I hope echoes the Edwardian heritage of Meads.’
There is no doubt that MBH have made every effort to become part of the community, opening their doors at last year’s Meads Magic when they had only been here for a few months.
‘We all really enjoyed ourselves that day. There was a real community feel to it and we were happy to be part of that. What a lovely work environment.’
